Page Settings

The Page Settings box gives you a wide range of powerful tools to customize your page, such as the page title, keywords, Open Graph settings, and page background settings

  1. Click Page Settings in the Edit mode menu

Page Settings

In the first tab of the Page Settings panel, there are several fields which you can modify

  1. Page Title: Here you can change the title of the page. This will be displayed on the tab in your browser

  2. Slug: This will change the URL by which the page is accessed. For example, by default the slug for your Home Page will be “home-page”, so to navigate to the page in your browser you would type “yourdomain.com/page/home-page

Changing the URL will break external links to the page. Links to the page within Finalweb will not break.

  3. User Account Required: If checked, the viewer must be logged into the website to view the page

  4. Meta Keywords: Here you can enter keywords specific to this page. Note that most reputable search engines no longer take meta keywords into account for search results

  5. Meta Description: This will be displayed under the page title in search results. It is recommended that this description have a length between 50-300 characters.

Open Graph Settings

The Open Graph Protocol enables better social network connection for your page. These settings can improve how your page looks when it is shared on Facebook. You can also edit Site-Wide Open Graph settings.

  1. Page Type: Choose the type that best suits your page

  2. Title: Enter the title of your page. By default this will be the Title you enter in Page Settings

  3. URL: If this field is filled, Facebook will look at that URL instead of the current page. Only use this if the current page has been deprecated.

  4. Description: Enter the description of the current page

  5. Site Name: Enter the name of the site. By default this will use your site name

  6. OG Image: Enter an image to be shared as the main image of the page. Facebook will try to pull an image from the page when it is shared, with this field you can specify an image not on your page or make sure Facebook always uses the image you upload here.

Background Settings

If your current template supports page backgrounds, you can set the background of your page here. By default each page will use the background specified in your Site Settings

  • Use Site Background Settings: If checked, the page will ignore these settings while loading and use the sitewide settings instead

  • Background Type: You can select a color, image, or video background. With video backgrounds, it is recommended not to choose a large file, as this will significantly impact your page’s loading time.

  • Overlay Type: This will cover any image or video background you have. A gradient will allow you to fade between two colors across the Background

  • Colors: Specify the color you want from the color-picker.

  • Opacity: Determine how opaque the overlay should be. A full opacity will completely cover the background in the selected color or gradient

  • Texture: Select from a variety of textures. The texture will be applied to the overlay and tile across the whole background
