Your app comes with the ability to provide news items to your users. Additionally, you can send an alert to all users of your app who have notifications enabled that links to your news item.
To get started, click the news and notifications button from your app manager. Then, click the add button to create a new news record.
The start and end dates are the dates that you would like this news item to be displayed. It will not be displayed outside of the dates you specify, so be sure to enter a range and do not ignore these fields.
Title the news item in the title field. In the abstract field, enter a short description that can be used as a notification when sent to users. In the primary news field, enter all of the news item content. Save the item when you are finished.
To send an alert, go again to the news and notifications area in the app manager. Click the send notification button next to the news item that you would like to send out.
You can then set up a notification title and description text to describe the instance of this notification, and then choose to send it immediately or to schedule it to be sent at a future time using the “Send Type” selector and choosing “Now” or “Later,” and then specifying a date/time for future notifications. Click “Schedule” or “Send Notification” at the bottom when finished.
