Live Streaming

You can set up your Live Streaming service in a few simple steps.

    Setting Up Your Channel

    First, click on Administration on the lower left of your menu while in Edit Mode. Next, scroll to the bottom of the Administration menu on the left and click on Live Streaming. On the right side of the page, if you have an active Live Streaming plan, you can click the plus button to the lower right to add a new channel. You can have as many channels as you want, and you can broadcast to them simultaneously.

    Adding Your Player

    To add a Live Streaming player to your site, go to your website and hover over your top menu, and click “Edit Menu.” Click the plus icon in the lower right to add a new menu item. Title it “Live Streaming” or whatever you’d like and choose “New Page” in the middle box. Save the menu item, then save the menu. Click on your new Live Streaming page. In the center content area click the plus to “Add Section.

    Configuring OBS

    Open Broadcaster Software is a free utility to stream to various sources, including our Live Streaming service. To broadcast to your Live Streaming system using OBS, follow the instructions below: First, login to your website and go to the Live Streaming administration page. Click the option to edit your live streaming channel, or add a new one. Set the channel to "Desktop Publisher" for the publish method. If you want to record your broadcasts, turn Auto Record "

    Troubleshooting Streaming Issues

    Live Streaming is a bandwidth-intensive operation and a few problems can arise. Most of them relate to one of two issues: Not enough network bandwidth to stream in the desired quality Not enough CPU power to stream in the desired quality If you are experiencing problems with your stream, including choppy/intermittent video or the stream buffering/stopping/starting, we recommend the following steps: First, go to www.speedtest.net and check your download and upload speed.

    Simulcasting to YouTube

    To simulcast to YouTube: Login to your YouTube account. Click the + icon to the top right to "create" new video, and choose "Go Live." Select "Stream" to the upper-left. Title your channel and answer the questions on the YouTube form provided. Note that for a public stream, you will need to specify this. However, you can create a private stream for testing.     Simulcasting to Facebook

    Facebook has some requirements in order to be able to simulcast to them from an external service. Users will need to have a Facebook account that’s at least 60 days old. For creators and businesses using Pages or professional mode for profiles, users will also need at least 100 followers. If your organization doesn’t have 100 followers, you can still stream to a normal personal Facebook profile. To simulcast to Facebook:

    Live Streaming with CamON for Android

    CamON is a free app that can be used to stream to our Live Streaming system using your Android device. To use CamON: Install the CamON Live Streaming app from the Google Play Store. Launch the app, then tap on the screen and choose the Settings wheel. Under Camera, set the resolution to 1280x720 (recommended). Click back. Under RTSP/H264, choose Quality and set it to 1000 kbps (recommended). Click back. Under Adapters choose Live Streaming.

    Live Streaming with Live Now for iOS

    Live Now is an inexpensive app that can be used to stream to our Live Streaming system using your iOS device. To use Live Now: Ensure your streaming channel is set to "Web Publisher (Pro presenter, switcher studio, ATEM)" Install the "Live Now - Live Stream" app from the App Store. Launch the app, then tap on RTMP on the main screen. Choose "RTMP" on the "Select platform" screen. Paste the connection stream key from your live stream channels screen on your site.
